Bubble Shooter Vale

Bubble Shooter Vale is the standard version of a format that has barely changed in thirty years, which is a compliment. You fire coloured bubbles up at a cluster, three of a colour pop, and anything left hanging without support falls. The addition here is a clock, which changes the calculus: in an untimed bubble shooter you can study the board indefinitely and always find the optimal shot, and that is relaxing but slack. With a timer you have to take good shots quickly instead of perfect shots eventually, and the board creeping down while you think adds real pressure to a genre that usually has none.

Aim the loaded bubble and fire it into the cluster above. Three or more touching bubbles of the same colour pop. Any bubbles that were only connected through the popped group lose their anchor and fall too, which is where the large scores come from. Clear the board before the time runs out or the cluster reaches the bottom.

Bank off the side walls. Nearly every high-value shot in a bubble shooter requires putting a bubble somewhere you cannot reach in a straight line, and players who never learn the wall bounce cap out early. Shoot at the top of the cluster, not the bottom — detaching a group from the ceiling drops everything underneath at once, and that single habit is worth more than accuracy. Watch the queued next bubble so you can plan two shots together. And when nothing good is available, park a bubble at the far edge rather than forcing a bad match in the middle that widens the cluster.
