About Boom Cell

Boom Cell is an arena survival game in the .io tradition: everyone on the map is playing the same game you are, you all start small, and size is the only thing that matters. You begin as a single cell and build a brigade by absorbing what you can beat. The rule that shapes every decision is that a larger group overpowers a smaller one automatically — there is no clever play that beats a size disadvantage, so the entire skill is in judging what you can take and, more importantly, what you must run from. That makes it a game about restraint far more than aggression, which is not how most people play it for the first ten minutes.

How to Play Boom Cell

Move around the map absorbing smaller cells to grow your brigade. Engage other players' groups only when yours is bigger, because size decides the outcome directly. Avoid anything larger than you — being caught by a bigger swarm ends your run regardless of what you were doing. Surviving and growing is the objective; there is no finish line, only how large you managed to get.

Controls

The left mouse button or WASD moves your cell brigade. There is no separate attack input — movement into a smaller target is the attack.

Tips and Tricks

Play the edges early. The middle of the map is where the biggest groups are and where the most collisions happen, and a small brigade in the centre is food. Grow on neutral material before contesting anything with another player. When something bigger commits to you, run perpendicular rather than directly away — a straight-line chase is one the larger group usually wins. And once you are large, stop chasing single cells; the risk of drifting into someone bigger while distracted is worth more than the growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I beat a bigger group with skill?

No. Size decides engagements directly, which is why avoidance matters more than aggression.

Is there an end to a round?

No finish line — you play until something bigger catches you, and your size is the score.

Mouse or keyboard?

Either. The left mouse button and WASD both steer.
